Who else would ever have thought to do this: Craft eight original live performance art pieces to be shown NOT at a traditional theater space, but at a supermarket, diner and parking lot over the course of the past four months?
And then who goes on to make a movie out of it that premieres at The Boedecker Theater May 7th and 8th, interwoven with live performance, music and an art installation?Using footage taken by the public and the company, the film documents the series of performances that took place at Lucky's Market and Café, capturing shoppers and performers interacting in the grocery store and café. Live dance and theater, performed by Danelle Helander, Kelsey Kempfer, Jamie Melaragno, Sean Owens, Tomas Waples, will add texture and depth to the film through the juxtaposition of live and recorded art. Live music by musicians Matt Powelson, Holly DeHoog, Charles Ayash, and Otto Koch will accompany both the performers on stage and the performers on film. An installation by Sara Rockinger will be present in the space. Tickets will cost $17, $15 for students/seniors, and are available at the Dairy Box Office, in person, online, or by phone at (303) 444-7328.
